Business Concept Competition for Young Entrepreneurs
Introduction The Social Sciences department of Aditya Birla World Academy is providing an outstanding opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship while putting their ideas into action. As a participant in the competition, you will be working with your teammates to do four things:
Objective: The Business Concept Competition is designed to recognize and promote exceptional entrepreneurial skill and creativity among the grade 11 students of Cambridge and IB programme |
General Guidelines:
Initial capital: Rs 50,00,000 (Rupees fifty lacs). However you may raise additional capital of Rs.50,00,000 ( Rupees fifty lacs) the means for which must be clearly stated
Business type: Ecommerce – either participate by selling your innovative product on existing Indian e commerce giants like Flipkart, Amazon, Ebay, etc. or a fresh product idea or service idea using a new domain and website name

Stages of Competition
Stage 1 : Elimination round – 10 points The teams are encouraged to design and submit a business concept. Each team is required to submit a written proposal (maximum 300 words) of their business concept. The proposal should clearly identify the following:

Criteria
The written proposal will be judged on the basis of the following criteria: (10 points of which each criteria would have a maximum allocation of 2 points) 1) Capital requirements and allocation is clearly identified 2) The product and/or service is clearly identified and described [so that readers / judges can easily visualize the product or service] 3) The market being addressed (the customers) is clearly identified, and is of sufficiently large enough quantity to support the business concept profitably. Also the key drivers for demand should be identified and described 4) The method and/or location of delivering the product/service to the customers appears reasonable for the concept and is clearly identified and how suitable it is to the product or service (e.g. retail outlets) 5) The overall quality of the business write-up and planning process. Also, the actual viability and innovation of the business product or service |
Stage 2 : Presentation round – 20 points
A set of judges review all entries. The top five teams are invited to present their business concept on Friday, October 09, 2015 in the school auditorium before a panel of judges. Scores from both the written and oral presentations are totaled to determine final placement. A team with the highest points will be awarded at the Social Sciences Assembly.
